Self-Build Insurance Claim
Protek provides a range of self-build insurance for new build, conversion, renovation and extension projects. Whether you are doing the work entirely yourself or using contractors, our insurance provides the comprehensive cover required.
What to expect
What does a self-build insurance claim look like?
Storm damage alone accounts for a good proportion of the large self-build claims notified every year. The cost of clearing, repairing or rebuilding damaged works is always far greater than you might first expect, and you need an insurer that reacts quickly to get you back on track. It is not just the damage itself either. The delay while rebuilding work is carried out can have a serious knock-on effect on your project finances.
When do I need to arrange cover?
Your insurance should usually be in place from the moment you exchange contracts on the property you are working on, or the plot you intend to build on. That way you have the protection you need throughout construction, renovation or conversion. Risks such as fire, theft, storm damage and accidental damage to property or people are all provided for.
